Woodland Grange Primary School

Our School

Woodland Grange opened in August 1991 and is situated on the Grange Farm housing development just off the A6 in Oadby. The school, which was built for 240 children in the 4 - 10 age-range now accommodates over 360 and this figure may rise further due to further building on the estate and the popularity of the school.

The school is set in pleasant and spacious grounds. Following a new building programme, we now have the structures and facilities to meet the needs of the number of children on roll.

The main building, comprises seven class areas, a computer suite, reprographics/ancillaries room, food technology facilities and the administration wing. The ‘new’ building which opened in 2001 comprises three classrooms of semi-open plan design, a library and a music studio.

Our hall, which opened in 2003 is in a free standing complex at the back of the school which also accommodates the kitchen, P.E. store and cloakroom facilities.

Additionally we have three mobile classroom buildings which includes a French room and pre/after care.

An exciting new development opened in September 2015 and saw the creation of Woodland Grange Pre-School that takes pupils in the September following their third birthday.  This provision is open from 7.45am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks a year.

The class structure of the school is:

  • Year 5 - 2 classes
  • Year 4 - 2 classes
  • Year 3 - 2 classes
  • Year 2 - 2 classes
  • Year 1 - 2 classes
  • Foundation Stage – 2 classes

From the start of the 2016/17 academic year, Year 6 pupils will be taught at the school, with a new building put in place to accommodate two additional classes.
